| Volunteer with The Network |
|
The Network: Young Professionals of the Quad Cities works to help involve area young professionals in the many volunteer opportunities that the Quad Cities has to offer through a program called eNgage.
Whether through The Network, non-profit organizations, community service projects, civic organizations, public service, or other activities, it's important to eNgage yourself in the quality of life offered here in the Quad Cities. Volunteering not only helps you meet new people, but allows you to give back to the community and helps the area's growth.
Volunteer at one of the following opportunities:
- A growing number of business professionals are adding mediation to their skill sets. Want to learn more about mediation and help your community? Take Basic Mediation Training offered by Quad Cities Mediation Services, Inc. Training is set for February 17-19, 2010 in Bettendorf. Coursework includes two days of classroom and one day in court. Training materials and lunch provided for $75 fee plus commitment of two hours community service in court setting for 12 months. For application and approval process, contact Bill Peiffer at peifferw@gmail.com.
- The Center for Economic Progress is looking for volunteers interested in building skills, meeting new people, and working one-on-one with low-income families to help them move toward financial security. No experience in necessary - you can choose a position that will fit your current skills or learn something new. All training is provided, classes run in January. Volunteers are asked to donate 20 hours at the Rock Island site, located at the Martin Luther King Center between January and April. See why over 1,200 volunteers dedicated last winter to serve 33,00 families statewide! View training schedules, find a site near you and register to volunteer at www.economicprogress.org/volunteer.
